Early Dawn

Watch the Light is coming into view.
How magnificent is the Light of God eternal.
The Lord of righteousness and love.
Listen – the cry of a large bird
Taking the first plunge off a high cliff –
Soaring over woodlands and forests –
Oceans, streams and rivers,
Awesome in his size-
Majestic in his flight –
Feeling the wind under his wings.
He sees the waterfalls crashing on to the rocks below.
The world is very young,
Only five days old.
Under the surface of the water
the shoals of fish make their way
To the open space of the sea.
In the oceans
Sea creatures of all kinds-
Large mammals of all shapes and sizes
Dive in and out of the oceans
Just for pure pleasure
In the radiance and praise of our Lord.
All things that live praise the Lord,
Knowing they are perfectly made
By the hand of the Creative God.
Over land, a large animal,
Antlers aloft,
He shakes his mighty main
And paws the ground
And snorts in majestic wonder.
Made at a word from God.
Made through the living Word (Jesus)
Breathing His breath into their lives (Holy Spirit)
Small creatures busy make their webs.
Small birds twittering making their homes.
Then there is a hush
The Lord is forming something from the dust.
He breathes life into this new being
Calling this new being forth –
Man.
Someone made in His own image
(Psalm 139) More beautiful than anything
He has created.
All creatures are called before him
As he names each one in turn,
Zebra, rhinoceros, horse,
Sheep, rabbit, lion and tiger,
Cat, dog, wolf and fox
On and on…
Robin, sparrow, eagle, falcon…
Spider, fly, frog, ant…
Bee, wasp, deer, cod…
So many each with his companion
Except man.
Sh…Adam is asleep.
The word call forth another.
From Adam’s side
Adam’s love Adam’s life
Adam’s wife,
(Genesis 3:21) Eve the mother of all living.
